It was a couple of days before Thanksgiving, when my niece Ariella of Champagne and A Dream, invited me to Chromeo DJ set at the legendary Webster Hall. My niece is a huge Chromeo fan and she found out about this free event on I Love Free Concerts and the group also announced it on their Twitter account. She requested two passes and I was her plus one. When we got in I saw that the event was filled with mostly NYU students because the campus is nearby. Dave 1 and P-Thugg finally came on the stage about midnight and it was worth the wait. The crowd was sufficiently liquored up and definitely ready to dance. EDM was on full blast!
The DJ set lasted about two hours and the crowd loved it. The only issue I had was not being able to move around. The VIP sections were so large and empty, that nonVIP were crammed into tight spaces where you couldn’t dance without having drinks spilled all over you, walking through puddles of liquor, and avoiding people tripping out on who knows what. But I guess that’s the price you pay for free. All in all a good night because we thoroughly enjoyed!!
