The daily grind can get repetitive, fast. Whenever you get a free weekend or even a day, you might be tempted to have a lazy day in. There’s nothing wrong with this sometimes, but as the saying goes, “sometimes change is better than a rest.”
Why not consider injecting a bit of excitement into your life and try something new and a bit different? Here are some ideas that will be great fun for families and thrill-seekers alike. You might even find a new regular hobby to fall in love with.
White Water Rafting

Whether you want white-knuckle excitement or a leisurely paddle down a river, white water rafting can provide any experience that you might be after. New and Gauley River Adventure, for example, offers several rafting experiences that can suit all kinds of customers. They also have a few other adventures on offer, if you wanted to mix it up.
Water rafting is a great way to explore the wilderness. Typically, the company will provide rafts, life jackets, and a guide to show you around the local rivers. You’ll be able to look at everything from a completely different perspective when you explore via a river.
Escape Room
If you aren’t as fond of the wilderness, you can find your adventures in a more urban setting. Escape rooms are a great way to spend time with your friends or family, as you work together to figure out the secrets within the room and escape.
The great thing about escape rooms is the variety of themes that you have to work with. You can go with a horror theme, a science fiction theme, or even an old-fashioned mystery theme. Just pick the option that interests you the most and make a day of it.
Some escape rooms might even be ideal when you’re trying to get to know someone or a group of people better, as you can learn about how people think and work together to solve a problem. Then, you get to feel good about escaping.
Archery
You’d be surprised at where you kind find places to try out or practice archery. While it’s somewhat of a niche sport, there’s nothing quite as satisfying as your first bullseye. Archery happens to be a safe and affordable way to pass the time, and it’s a great way to learn a new skill.
You can also try out ax and knife throwing if the bow is too civilized for you. The equipment is provided and someone will be there to guide you.
Rally Car Driving
This is a great day out for anyone who fancies themself a racer or who loves cars and driving in general. It’s exciting, but you typically have a professional driver with you. Depending on what kind of adventure you go with, you can either ride along with the driver or have them instruct you.
If you’re behind the wheel, you will need a valid driver’s license. Typically, the car and safety gear will be provided.
Which one of these adventures sounds most like a go for you? Let me know in the comments.
Until our next rendezvous…
XOXO
