Is New York worth traveling to

Traveling is one of the most amazing things that you will ever get to do with your time and that often comes with the challenges of trying to figure out where to go. After all, the last thing you want is to end up somewhere where you’re unhappy. One of the biggest questions that a lot of people tend to ask is whether or not it’s worth it to go to some of the more popular places. And what could be a more popular destination than The City That Never Sleeps? New York is one of the most famous travel destinations in the world but a lot of people find themselves wondering if it’s overrated. With that in mind, here are just a few reasons why New York City really is worth a visit.

The Nightlife

Let’s start with the obvious, New York is called the city that never sleeps for a good reason. No matter what time of day it is, you are almost always going to be able to find something amazing to do. Whether it’s finding cheap
Broadway show tickets or tracking down one of the many famous New York Jazz bars, the nightlife is some of the most exciting in the world. And often it can come in the form of the last places that you would possibly expect. Don’t just look in the obvious places, be willing to get out some of the lesser known attractions throughout the city.

The Food

One of the very best things about New York City is just how much of a melting pot it really is. And where there are lots of people from different cultures mingling together, there is always going to be some truly amazing food. Obviously, you’ve got the classics like New York style pizza and the many amazing delis all over the city. But there is also plenty of food from all kinds of different cultures. It’s amazing just how much of an authentic taste of so many places you can find in just this one city.

The Secrets

A lot of places in New York City are world famous. From Broadway to Times Square, you could go to the other side of the world and find people who had heard of them. But what about all the rest. After all, for people who live in New York, those aren’t the places they go. One of New York’s most underrated features is just how many hidden gems there are throughout the city whether you’re looking for food, fashion, art, or just about anything else you could possibly want. You’ve just got to be willing to go off the beaten track.

Of course, if you’re taking a trip to New York, there’s no reason why you have to stop there. America is one of the best possible places for road tripping and it’s so huge that even those who have lived there for pretty much their entire lives can still find interesting things if they’re willing to look hard enough.

What are your travel goals if you visit New York? Are you a foodie? Maybe you are a Broadway baby or a big party goer? Your likes really would shape your to do list because anything is possible here. Tell me all about your must do list in the comments below.

  1. I’ve never been to NYC, but if I make it there I’d go either in the spring or fall to bird watch during migration in Central Park. Trying out some good restaurants would be fun too along with just exploring different areas within the city. Great post, Trudy!

    1. I agree, the Spring and Autumn are great times to come and be able to walk the city. Trying new restaurants is one of my favorite things to do.

  2. I used to love just hopping the train and going into New York to go see a show or take a yoga class at the Jivamukti studio, or to enjoy a museum. And then to eat at any one of the fabulous restaurants. I’ve had meals at famous places and not so famous. Some of the best finds were just walking around a corner and discovering a restaurant tucked away in a corner.

  3. Is this actually a question that comes up on Google? How could it not be worth it? 🙂 I miss New York every day this time of year. And Fall, and Christmas…

    1. That’s because you’ve been. Some people who have not been think that it may be overhyped and don’t believe how awesome it is.

What do you think? I would like to know.
