Spiritual Locations You Need to Visit the Next Time You’re in Peru

Peru is a very mysterious location. There are sacred lands around every corner and it’s the perfect place for you to unwind and discover more about yourself. If you want to have a truly life-changing experience, then here are some of the top places you need to visit the next time you travel to the area.

Aramu Muru

This is a huge rock wall. It has an oddly shaped doorway and nobody has any idea when it was built, or even how. People believe that if you were to touch the wall with your forehead then this would give you a much higher level of consciousness. Others say that the energy is so intense that it makes your entire body shake when you go near. Either way, if you have never been here before then it should certainly be on your bucket list the next time you’re on your travels

Lake Titicaca

This stands 4,000 meters above sea level. When you travel here, it’s possible that you will suffer from altitude sickness but if you are able to withstand it then magical things are ahead. This location is said to be the birthplace of the god Viracocha. It’s the highest and most navigable place in the world and there are plenty of local legends that tell stories about it too. One of them states that the lake was extraterrestrially placed and that underneath, there is a city made entirely of crystal. If you want to make the most out of your trip here, then you most certainly need to look into Ayahuasca retreats in Peru.

Amantani

The village of Amantani is traffic free. There are paved pathways that go up the steep mountain slope and you’ll also see plenty of farmhouses too. At the top are two temples which are dedicated to Pachamama and Pachatata. These are earth deities and to say that it is a charming location would be an understatement. This location is off the beaten path but it is certainly worth visiting. There are even sunrise ceremonies held here too, and this can be a very moving experience, to say the least.

Cusco

Cusco is an Incan city. It was built on rolling hills, and towering peaks surround it. Here you will find restaurants that are suited to every taste. As if that wasn’t enough you’ll also see shops and hotels too. The Inca Empire held the land when the Spanish conquistadors attacked, and when you visit, you’ll easily see influences of both. Here you’ll also find the Museum of Religious Art.

Sacred Valley

The Sacred Valley is a very spiritual location. Its incredibly fertile lands make it pulse with life, and a lot of farmers still use ancient farming methods to grow their crops. Terraces that seem to defy gravity wind all the way up the mountain and here, purple quinoa, cocoa, corn and more are grown. You’ll find Inca graves and ruins here too, which really help to bring out the true authenticity of the location.
